As a large group of about 17 people we formulated lots of ideas of where we could hold the exhibition, such as above a restaurant, in a cinema, in a pub, in a music venue (which I thought could be a great idea) but we ended up vouching for the cinema option. There is an independent cinema called No.6 Boathouse which we have managed to get contact numbers for (thanks to our large volume of people in our group..) with a large screen that we are hoping to create a slideshow style presentation of images on the cinema screen. Thinking along the same lines we will also contact theatres such as the Kings Theatre on Albert Road. With Albert Road being a place that seems to attract artistic people with the music venue Wedgewood Rooms and plenty of qwerky shops it should be easy to attract a crowd to a photographic exhibition.
This blog is recording the progress of my University photography project. The project is to organise an exhibition to display our work that we have been doing in on a separate project on the theme of territories within documentary practices. Here I will record everything we are doing along the way to hopefully get to a final exhibition, beginning with our initial session of generating ideas for the project!
